The northwest corner of PHS
As depicted in the December 1930 edition of the school magazine
The full extent of the original building can be clearly seen from this view.
The building at the rear of the school (left of photo) is (was) the gymnasium,
a two storey structure which was open (but wired) on much of its north face
(to the rear of school).
The tuckshop (not visible in this shot) occupied 21'4" of the front (south) face of this
building.
The ground floor was occupied by a large cellar and the lavatories.
Note also the windows enclosing the passageways overlooking the main quadrangle
(a source of some discussion in recent heritage debates at the school.)
