Kite Aerial Photography
- The 30 sq ft flowform
When the wind is brisk, this kite can be a beast to retrieve. Winding it in on the regular line
spool isn't feasible (at least alone it isn't!) so the usual method is to walk the
line down - all 100-200 metres of it!
Fortunately this kite will not fly with slack lines, so for this shot I simply pulled in about
20m of line, then let it go!
True to form, the kite scrunched up like a ball and plummetted to earth.
It has been known to recover from this manoeuvre in the past (the
12sq ft flowform usually recovers, and the DC just loves
the exercise!) but this time it fell like a rock.
