Unlike the modern offset printed magazines, the earlier editions of our Magazine
were printed by the letterpress method, invented c.1426 by Johann Gutenberg.
Evidence of this process can be seen in the margin of the page at left.
The reversed imprint of the type on the previous page can be clearly discerned.
