This photo is not just one simple exposure, due to the widely varying brightness of the items of interest.
These three exposures were combined to make the above image.

Exposures range from 1/4 to 1/1000 second. Camera is a Pentax digital SLR. Lens is a 600mm mirror telephoto.
Time was between 01:45 and 01:55 local DST (five minutes before DST ended!) - 12:45-12:55 GMT 26/03/05

On Christmas day 1998, 6½ years ago, a similar almost-occultation occurred.

of the Parramatta High School website.
