90th Anniversary Picnic
28 September 2003

Sunday dawned a beautiful, warm, calm perfect spring day - which was just as well, since it had been blowing a gale on Saturday.
The first happy picnickers arrived early(!) and by midday the school was as full as an average school day - even if the average age of the students was a little higher.
Informality was the name of the game. There were no events, no speeches, no prize-givings, just lots of little groups getting together to reminisce about school days.

That was always our intention - to provide a venue for ex-students to meet their peers - their cohort - and catch up on old times.

Perhaps we could have provided more rooms as dedicated meeting places, but only four groups requested these beforehand...

Hey! We'll know for next time!

Next time we plan to sell tickets to the "Talk to Goodwin Packer" booth. That should fix up any rumours of a deficit for the next decade or so.
Seriously though folks, many thanks to all those hundreds of you who unflinchingly handed over the $5 donation at the door - and a big cheer to the generous benefactors who made special donations. It looks like we're closer to funding the WWII honour board, now. (More on that later.)

NEWS FLASH! Ex-student finds himself!
Its always nice to know that something - some essence of being - exists after we leave; something to remember us by.

At left, we see Macquarie Uni professor and SMH "number-crunch" author John Croucher as he "finds himself" on the 1963 honour board.

Professor Croucher writes a weekly column for the SMH in which he presents statistical anecdotes of interest to a wide audience...
...so, in return, we presented him with a page of "Croucher Stats". He can be seen here, "autographing" that page.

And what did John write?
