The Rokkaku is a traditional Japanese fighting kite. Hexagonal in shape, its two
horizontal cross-spars are tensioned in flight to maintain a bow shape.
At left is a thumbnail image of the skin of the Parramatta High
Rokkaku, before the frame was made. Click on it to enlarge it, and to get a good idea

The design isn't clear, but it is recognisable. The six-line red bridle can be seen above
and to the left of the kite. (8k)
This shot really establishes the airworthiness of the school badge in this form.

Chasing the shadow of the rok as it danced over the park, I finally got this shot as it
momentarily eclipsed the sun.
