Kite Aerial Photography
The Parramatta High School Rokkaku ...Eclipsing the sun...
The Objective: to photograph the kite in the air, showing the school badge on its face.
The Problem: the sun in the background - washing out the image.
The Solution: Chase the shadow.
I tethered the kiteline on the oval, then climbed the hill to get closer to the kite for a good
shot. Nope! Too much glare. I then saw the shadow of the kite flitting around the library.
Aha! The next ten minutes were spent prancing back and forth chasing the shadow of the kite
in and out of the trees. Finally it stood still long enough for me to jump on it, aim the camera
and shoot this shot.
