By July 2001, Mars had wandered the length of Scorpius, bounced back from retrograde to prograde motion, passed the very favourable 2001 opposition, and was beginning to move away from earth.

The above shot shows his location in Scorpius on 19/7/01.

The exposure was tracked (not guided) for 2 minutes - The film was Kodak Elite Chrome 200, the lens 28mm @ f/4.
