The Moon in close-up
The photo below was taken with a 120mm f/8.3 1000mm f/l refractor, with the usual webcam at prime focus.

This yields slightly less magnification (x.8) than the ETX previously used on this site.

The image below is in the south western region of the moon.

In the previous image (3 days younger), the view is closer to the terminator, and the craters are seen in stark relief.
Here, the moon is closer to full, the sun is more "overhead", and the craters appear "softer".
Under these conditions, the rays which radiate from Tycho are easier to see.
