The Moon in close-up
All the shots in this series of moon closeups were taken with a 90mm (1250mm f.l.) ETX reflector telescope with a CCD webcam positioned at its prime focus. This yields the approximate equivalent of a 13 metre telephoto lens on a standard 35mm camera!

Tycho
This image shows Tycho and the surrounding area, taken just four days after the previous one.
Note the difference caused by the higher angle of the sun - the rays are prominent and the crater walls are much less obvious.

Over a year later, and one day younger, the rays from Tycho are also visible.
